Sarah Bagnall, the Director of the consultancy business, has recently gained the Cardiff University Bond Solon Expert Witness Civil Certificate (2022).

Sarah is an expert materials engineer specialising in failure analysis, particularly for the petrochemical, process and power generation industries. With over 600 failure investigations conducted, Sarah has broad experience with a wide range of engineering components, metallic and non-metallic materials, and industries. Sarah has extensive expertise in corrosion of a wide range of materials, particularly for the chemical processing and petrochemical industries. Sarah also has specialist expertise in the thermal degradation of austenitic stainless steels.

On some occasions, a materials issue can lead to injury, death or a significant financial loss. A claim or dispute of this nature requires an expert in the field to provide an independent opinion about the facts of a case for insurance claims and legal proceedings. Completion of the course further adds to Sarah’s experience and expertise in undertaking expert witness cases.
