Water Fitting Testing

Water is one of the most precious resources on Earth and is central to its ability to support and sustain all manner of life. Given its importance, vast energy, resource and infrastructure are dedicated to the collection, treatment and distribution of water in order to make it of suitable quality for human consumption. Meeting the demand for wholesome water supply is increasingly difficult owing to the impact of a growing population and climate change. Thus, it has never been more important that waste, misuse, undue consumption, erroneous measurement or contamination of the water supply is avoided.

A wide range of water fittings can be used to protect, condition and/or terminate the water supply. Many of these fittings can provide the opportunity for the waste, misuse, undue consumption, erroneous measurement and/or contamination of the water supply. The water fittings regulations protect drinking water supplies within plumbing systems in homes, businesses and other properties. Regulation 4 specifically imposes a legal duty on everyone to use suitable water fittings when connected to public water supplies.

The testing of water fittings is central to demonstrating that it satisfies the requirements of Regulation 4.
