R-TECH Materials staff exhibited at the recent Nuclear Innovation Showcase event organised in Manchester by Innovate UK, DECC and the Nuclear Decomissioning Authority. Metallurgical Manager Sarah Bagnall gave a short presentation of the results of the £150k feasibility study funded by Innovate UK on “Development of a structural integrity and life assessment model for stainless steels”. The modelling work has created substantial interest from plant operators, materials manufacturers and consulting engineers, and R-TECH is now looking to develop the work with a further research programme scheduled to commence in 2016.
