The assessment of compressive creep has been a requirement for some marine classification societies for many years. This requirement has now been incorporated into the EU Mutual Recognition Technical Requirements for resin chocks. R-TECH Materials has recently commissioned the design and manufacture of a new test rig for measurement of compressive creep on resins. The new rig has higher temperature and stress capability than previously, and extends our capabilities in this area. Working in partnership with a UK University, R-TECH Materials is establishing a research programme on creep behaviour of chocking resins, and would be keen to speak to any material suppliers interested in participating in the programme.
